  • The National Institute of Economic and Social Research of Britain, an independent research body found evidence of significant "discrimination and harassment" faced by Britain's Dalit community. Britain could become the first western country to with the acceptance of NIESR report. 
  • Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi survived a no-confidence motion. The no-trust vote brought by the centre-left opposition was defeated by 314 votes to 311. 
  • Julian Assange who was arrested in London for alleged sexual assault in Sweden was released on bail by London High Court after deposing the cash security of £240,000. 
  • Indian doctor Mohammad Haneef who was detained after being wrongly accused of having links to the Glassglow bombing attempt in 2007 in Scotland settles a deal with the Austrlian Government for receiving substantial compensation from the government. Haneef was detained for three years 
  • The British government reinstates the interim cap on non-European Union immigration, which was struck down by a court as it was "unlawful' on the grounds that it was introduced without Parliamentary approval. 
  • The United States Senate approves the New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) treaty, an arms reduction agreement with Russia. The treaty was passed by majority of 71 Senators with 26 Senators opposing the treaty. 
  • According to the survey of Daily Mail of London on the habit of drinking alcohol, Britons drink the most and Indians drink the least.Indians drink the least in the world with 27 percent and the Britons drink the most with 84 percent. 
  • WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was arrested by British Police in London in connection with sexual offences in Sweden. The Australian born Julian Assange and WikiLeaks have become famous for publishing the secret documents of governments all over the world since 2006. 
  • The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conference was held in Cancun, Mexico during the period of 29 November - 10 December 2010. The President of the conference Patricia Espinosa decided to constitute smaller groups to discuss the climate change issue. 
  • China created another world record in fastest trains with the successful launch of CRH 308A train between Beijing and Shangai. This train travelled at the speed of 486 k.m. per hour on world's longest high speed railway line in China.
