Mongol Conquests
Mongol empire and its expansion have left a history which is more gruesome than any other in the world. Expansion of the empire which began in China in the early 1200’s spread all the way through central Asia to Europe by 1300s leaving nothing but bloodshed and maladies.



(1618-1648)



Thirty Year’s War
One of the longest and bloodiest battles fought in Europe which initially started off as a divide between Protestants and Catholics, eventually causing a divide within the Holy Roman Empire. War later involved many other factors which contributed to aggravation of the existing scenarios. More than 5 million people died over this period of 30 years.

American Civil War
American civil war was a clash between the elite groups in the northern states which opposed slavery and the southern states which want the slavery to continue. The southern states wanted to separate from the USA, which was the reason for the war.




(1979-1989)




Soviet War in Afghanistan
This war took place due to Soviet Union’s effort to secure Afghanistan from the rebels called mujahedins. Soviet Union aimed to prevent the militants from spreading fanatic religious ideas and maintain and democratic republic in Afghanistan with a communist ideology. War went on for more than ten years with the Soviet Union on the losing side. It ended finally with a peace treaty and Soviet army leaving Afghanistan.

Vietnam War
This was belonged to the cold war period in which Vietnam became a battle field between communist and anti-communist forces With north Vietnam supported by china and other communist forces and south Vietnam backed by anti-communist forces like USA.

Napoleonic Wars
Includes a number of wars fought between Napoleon’s empire and various other opposition allies. It came to an end with Waterloo battle on 1815.

Conquests by the Empire of Japan
The Empire of Japan was more of military oriented rule that existed in Japan from the restoration of Meiji in 1894 to the acceptance of new Japanese constitution in 1947. The power obsessed reign has caused more casualties to the country than gains including the Hiroshima and Nagasaki incidents.

Russian Civil War
It was a clash between two sections within the Russian community namely the Bolshevik Red Army and the White Army of anti-Bolsheviks.




(1914-1918)




World War I
World War I can be named as the mother of all the bloodiest modern wars. It involved Allies (UK, France and Russia) on one side and Central powers of Austria-Hungary and Germany on the other side. Rest of the European countries had to take a side and join either of alliances. However, the war led to the failure of Central powers and with Germany bearing a fatal sum for all the destruction caused in World War I. The country was sanctioned by the treaty of Versailles. This eventually led Germany to start the World War II.



(1939-1945)



World War II
World War II was more of revenge from Germany’s side for what world had inflicted upon it during the World War I. This war too involved two power blocks namely the Axis and the Allied powers. Casualties caused by war and the holocaust carried out by Hitler made it one of the saddest parts of the World history. It also brought the fatal nuclear bombs which claimed the lives of millions in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
