  • Golden Horse Film Awards has been known as “Oscars” of Chinese-language, held in Taipei, Taiwan. Taiwanese family drama When Love Comes won the Best Film Award. 
  • India's former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi and Nobel Peace Laureate Mother Teresa are selected among the "25 Most Powerful Women of the Past Century" by Time Magazine. 
  • Himachal Pradesh bagged the Best State Award in the overall performance category in "State of States Survey - 2010 conducted by India Today Magazine.
  • Polish Nobel Peace Prize winner Lench Walesa offered to accept this year's award on behalf of the jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo 41st Inter National Film Festival of India started in Panaji on 22/11/2010. 
  • Six scientists from the disciplines of earth, ocean and atmospheric science of the National geophysical Research Union (NGRI) have been elected fellows and three others made associate fellows of the Andhra Pradesh Academy of science for 2008-10 Union Textile Minister, Dayanidhi Maran presented Shilp Guru Awards and National Awards for the year 2007 and 2008 to handicrafts artisans, master crafts person and master weavers in New Delhi.

  • The 25-year old Lakshman Reddy became the first one from Andhra Pradesh to be crowned "Mr World 2010" in the World Bodybuilding Championship in Las Vegas.

  • Mohammad Haffijulla of Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions won first rank in Science Olympiad 2010 jointely organised by IGNO-UNESCO M. Jayanth Reddy, a fifth Dan taekwondo expert executed 171 kicks in one minute to find his name in Guinness Book of World Records. 
  • Dr. Ashish Patil, Director of Urology Institute from Dhule in Maharashtra entered into Guinnes Book of World Records by removing 1,72,155 kidney stones from the patient of Dhanraj Wadile.
  • Public Sector Undertaking, BHEL bagged CII-Thomson Reuters Innovation Award for 2010 for its efforts in Hi-Tech Corporate category.
  • The outgoing Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva selected for Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for 2010 for promoting strong ties with developing countries.

Appleby, Dean of Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University, New York, who was invited by Jawaharlal Nehru to report on India's administrative system 
  • Sarod mastero Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and renowned violinist N Rajam have been selected for Sopori Academy of Music and Performance Arts (SaMaPa) awards 
  • Andhra Pradesh Transco bagged the India Power Awards 2010 for its all round best performance in the country.
  • Banglore based Rajesh Shah selected for Intel Environmental Award 2010 for his contribution in the field of safe drinking water.
  • Students of Palamuru University created Guinnes World Record with Largest Barefoot Walk. 
  • Indo-American researcher Amit Goyal has been selected as 'innovator of the year 2010' by R&D Magazine
  • Ghazal Srinivas receives the third certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records for performing 55 concerts in short span of 24 hours in September2010. This is the third record to him in consecutive years from 2008.
  • Dr. V Shanta and Malatichandur were selected for Gupta Foundation Awards 2010 for their contribution in the fields of service and literature.
