• Leslie Nielsen, best known for his role as cop in 'Naked Gun' dies at the age of 84 in Florida due to ill health. Nielsen born in Regina, Canada in 1926 and moved to Hollywood in 1950 and performed in number of live telivision dramas. 
• Two Indian farmers, Hemchandra Patil and Rajendra Patil from Maharashtra addressed the Business School of Harvard University on drip irrigation system. 
• Rahat Taslim(37) from Giridih, Jharkhand has become the first contestant to win the prize money of Rs.1 crore in the fourth season of game show Kaun Banega Crorepati. 
• The Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology of Karnataka, Katta Subramanya Naidu resigned to his post due to the irregularities in land allotment and Lokayukta filing FIR against him. 
• Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy tendered his resignation from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and also quits from Congress party. 
• Justice K.B.Bhanu of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday declared that Suman Rathod, Telugu Desam MLA from Khanapur Assembly constituency in Adilabad district, is not qualified to contest from the seat which was reserved for Schedule Tribes.

• Former Endowments Minister in TDP Government, Dandu Sivarama Raju died at the age of 75 in NIMS at Hyderabad 
• Noted Gandhian, economist and winner of Magsaysay Award in 1988, L.C. Jain died at the age of 85.
• Kapil Sibal appointed as Union Minister of Telecommunication after the post fell vacant because of A. Raja's resignation in connection with 2G Spectrum irregularities. 
• Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad has been nominated as member of University Grants Commission Central Hindi Language Implimentation Committee. This Committee will oversee the implementation of Hindi language in 31 Central Universities.

• Mohammad Haffijulla of Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions won first rank in Science Olympiad 2010 jointely organised by IGNO-UNESCO 
• Dr. Ashish Patil, Director of Urology Institute from Dhule in Maharashtra entered into Guinnes Book of World Records by removing 1,72,155 kidney stones from the patient of Dhanraj Wadile.
• The outgoing Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva selected for Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for 2010 for promoting strong ties with developing countries.
