  • Sky-diver Lt. Col. Satyendra Verma performed India’s first BASE jump from the 235-metre Pitampura TV tower in New Delhi
  • Justice Asutosh Mohunta sworn in as judge of the A.P.High Court. Chief Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru administered the oath.
  • The Central Government announced the appointment of Narsingha Mishra as another part time member to the 19th Law Commission. He was a senior Advocate in the Orissa High Court. Now the Law Commission has two full-time members and seven part-time members. P Venkatarama Reddy is the Chairman of 19th Law Commission.
  • The Indian Government has given Supreme Court Judge Status to VK Shunglu, who was appointed to look into the alleged financial irregularities in the Common Wealth games.
  • The former Argentine President, Nestor Kirchner suddenly died due to heart trouble. His wife, Cristina Fernandez current Argentine President.
  • The former international Archer, Lenin Cherukuri died in a road accident. Two of the Archers he had coached won silver medals at the recently concluded Common Wealth Games in New Delhi.
  • R.K. Mathur newly appointed as a Director of NPA (Sardar vallabai National Police Academy) on 21th Oct 2010. He was a 1974 batch IPS Officer.
  • High Court Retired Justice CVN Shastri was newly appointed as a Chairman of Water Pollution Control Council on 20th Oct 2010.
  • Surapaneni Purnachander Rao newly elected as a Chairman of Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) of Andhra Pradesh state on 20th Oct 2010 for 2010-2011 period, and he also worked as former Vice Chairman of State IACC for the period of 2009-2010
  • Justice T.Meena kumara, the senior-most judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court after Chief Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru, has been transferred to the Patna High court .The centre also transferred justice D.S.R Varma, another senior High Court Judge, to the Allahabad High Court.

  • RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani has topped Forbes magazine's list of the 100 richest Indians for the third year in-a-row, pipping billionaires like L N Mittal and Azim Premji with a net worth of USD 27 billion.
