  • Katarina srebotnik (slovenia) & Daniel Nestor (canada) have won the Australian open Mixed double championship./li>

  • Rajasthan Cricket Team won the "Ranji Trophy" against Baroda in Vadodara It won the Ranji Trophy for the first time in 77 years after getting the better of Baroda on first innings lead.
  • Pakistan has won the series against New Zealand by drawing the second test at Basin Reserve. This is the first time that Pakistan has won the test series during the last four years. Pakistan has won their last test match against West Indies by 2-0 in 2006-07.
  • India beat West Indies by 57 runs in the fifth women's One Day International (ODI) in Rajkot. India won the series against West Indies by 3-2 win. 
  • Belgian 'Kim Clijesters' won her first Australian Open crown with a 3-6, 6-3, 63 win over China's 'Li Na' at Melbourne Park. The title is Clijesters' fourth Grand Slam overall, 
  • Castrol Awards given for following Cricketers - Indian Captain M.S.Dhoni was declared the "Castrol ODI Cricketer of the year", Virendhra Sehwag "Castrol batsman of the year" and Harbhajan Singh "Castrol bowler of the year". Mohinder Amarnath was given the "Lifetime Achievement award” at the Castrol award function in Mumbai.
  • American twins "Bob and Milke Bryan" won the 'Australian Open' against Indian Stars "Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander paes" with a 6-3,6-4 victory in the final.
  • Thired seed "Novak Djokoveic" won the Australian Open against Britain's "Andy Murray" in Melbourne with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 in the final.
  • Indian made history at the Ratmalana courts in Colombo by clinching the boys title for the first time, beating defending champion Pakistan 2-1 in an exciting final of the "Asia junior squash championship" 
  • Japan won the Asian Cup -2011 against Australia at Khalifa Stadium in Doha Japan beat Australia 1-0 in the final.

  • The 16th National Scouts and Guides jamboree concluded at Shankarpally in Hyderabad. Andhra Pradesh hosted a jamboree after a gap of 57 years. 
  • Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka won the Chennai Open Title with 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 over Belgian Xavier Malisse. 
  • Leander paes and Mahesh Bhupathi won the Chennai Open Doubles Title. They won over Robin Haase and David Martine in the Chennai Open final. They won their first title together in over six years, 
  • Lionel Messi and Marta were awarded for the 'World's best Foot-Ball players' 
  • Rafael Nadal won the World Tennis Championship Exhibition Trophy in Abu Dhabi by defeating Roger Federer. 
  • England won the Ashes Test Series 3-1 against Australia at Sydney. England Claims the series in Australia after a gap of 24 Years. England opener Alastair cook awarded 'Man of the Mach' and 'Man of the Series'
